In 2012 however, amendments where made regarding this form of certification, namely removing the requirement to formally request a completion certificate in favour of a local authority verifying the work on-site. This added efficiency to the process as it could be boxed of as and when the work is completed. As well as this, the amendments added the requirement of certificate provision within 8 weeks of the work being completed.
